I wouldn't have another single thrown at me.  Nutten but dual pistons for me from now on.  Ya can really quite them down by putten them inside a closet lined with false ceiling tiles.  Or just framed and panneled with ceiling tiles.  Still allows air in but deadens the noise quite a bit.  Gonna do that to my IR this summer.  Oh and it helps to contain the heat in the summer.

I had a Cambell upright that worked well.  It was a single stage 6 HP 60 gal ( I think ) tank.  Good unit.  wouldn't fit in my tool and bike trailer so I'm going to have to go with a smaller unit.  You just have to evaluate your needs and buy accordingly.  My big one ran on 220 only which is the main reason I had to get rid of it, my welder will run on eighter.

Pappy,

I had that exact same compressor.  It worked fine up until I tried to run a media cabinet with it.  Blew the presser up on it.  I still use the tank though.  Noise little bastards.  You will want to put it in its own room/closet.
